Executive Committee
Our executive team is made up of passionate local leaders committed to strengthening democracy in San Miguel County.
Joan May,
Chair
Joan May has been active in the San Miguel County Democratic Party since 1987. She began serving as Chair in February 2025, after previously holding the role of Vice Chair. From 2007 to 2019, Joan also served as a San Miguel County Commissioner.
Cindy Wyszynski,
Vice Chair
Cindy has called San Miguel County home for more than 20 years. She's Office Manager for Gerber Construction, Treasurer for both the Town of Ophir, and the Uncompaghre Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In addition, she was State President of the Colorado Elks Assoc. from 2022-2023, and has a Certificate in Executive Presence and Leadership from the Wharton School of Business. She's honored to be serving in this capacity.
Fianna Ahern,
2nd Vice Chair
Fianna Ahern began serving as Co-Vice Chair of the San Miguel County Democratic Party while a senior at Telluride High School. This fall, she is studying nursing with a minor in women’s health. She values Telluride for its strong connection to the outdoors.
Kathleen Erie,
Treasurer
Kathleen was San Miguel County Clerk for eight years. Less well-known fact about her—She was the New York State Road Racing Champion in Showroom Stock A in 1977. She's pictured center in this early 80's image.
Annabelle O’Neill,
Secretary
Originally from Boston, Annabelle studied Geology at Colorado College and has been an Ophir resident since 2024. She currently works in wind energy development.
